Community Branch Network

There are currently seven community branches open, one new branch to open in the next six months and expressions of interest from three more communities.

Crows Nest (Crows Nest Shire)

  • Opened April 1999
  • First community banking facility in Queensland
  • Required to raise $60,000 as its share of start up capital. (Low amount as local council provided premises at nominal rental for first two years)
  • First profit realised in month eight
  • Cumulatively profitable in month fifteen
  • Paid its first interest dividend to investors at the end of year two (a premium interest rate of 2%p.a. above the $100,000 + term deposit rate)
  • Offered members their investment back at the end of year three
  • First round of profits distributed back to the community (approx. $30,000) at end of year three
  • Since becoming cumulatively profitable, have achieved almost $1 million in profits

Nanango (Nanango Shire)

  • Opened December 2001
  • Required to raise $100,000 as its share of start up capital
  • First profit realised in month six
  • Cumulatively profitable in month nine
  • Paid its first interest dividend to investors at the end of year two (a premium interest rate of 2%p.a. above the $100,000 + term deposit rate)
  • Offered members their investment back at the end of year three
  • First round of profits distributed back to the community (approx. $60,000) at end of year three
  • Since becoming cumulatively profitable, have achieved almost  $550 000 in profits

Highfields (Crows Nest Shire)

  • Initiative by Crows Nest company to provide further financial facilities to its shire residents
  • Opened in December 2003
  • Required to raise $80,000 as its share of start up capital
  • First profit realised in month seven
  • Cumulatively profitable in month eight
  • Paid its first interest dividend to investors at the end of year one (a premium interest rate of 2%p.a. above the $100,000 + term deposit rate)
  • In conjunction with Crows Nest annual interest dividend
  • Contributed first profits to Crows Nest Company (PCCN) at end of the first year 
  • Since becoming cumulatively profitable, have achieved almost $300 000 in profits

Forest Lake (South West Brisbane)

  • Required to raise $221,000 as its share of start up capital
  • Expected to make its first profit in the near future

  • Expected to make its first profit in the near future
